A warm welcome to Sew & Quilt. Founded in September 2012 by Jessie Fincham - also known as MessyJesse! We are a one-of-a-kind destination for those who love the traditional craft of English paper piecing and patchwork. We are proud to offer our own range of Sew & Quilt paper pieces, made by us at our idyllic location here in West Cornwall, available directly from us or specialist quilting retailers across the UK and beyond. Our English paper pieces, along with all our products are carefully thought through every detail - from material to presentation to packaging, in order to provide a unique selection of products that I would not only use myself, but be proud to share with you. Our product offering includes all the supplies you need to fulfil every EPP need! As well as Liberty Tana Lawns and quilting fabrics for eclectic modern maker's and traditional quilter's alike.
A Bit More from Jessie …
I'm an avid quilter and hugely passionate about the English paper piecing craft, having discovered the technique from a 1970s craft book I found in a charity shop. It was only until I lucked out in a local auction house a year later - winning a box full of Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks and hundreds of pre-basted hexagons did I really get hooked! Since that time I've made a plethora of patchwork projects, both hand-pieced and machine pieced and contributed to a number of publications on the topic.
In September 2012 I setup Sew & Quilt from humble beginnings at home, and in 2015 took the big leap of faith and quit the day job, and in the same year launched our Sew and Quilt Paper Pieces (#SewandQuiltPaperPieces) in order to offer a wide variety of English Paper Piecing templates at an affordable price for customers and moved into our new business premises. In 2016 we released our first Block Of The Month program which turned out to be tremendously popular with customers stretching the globe! Soon after, my husband, Robin joined the business full-time to help with BOM club operations. In March 2017, we jumped ship to larger premises next door, complete with workshop to move the production of our Sew & Quilt paper pieces in-house. After a two-year stint of running a bricks-and-morter shop and growing the online business we made the decision to close our doors to the public in February 2019 to concentrate on our online sales and clubs. Fast forward to today, we have moved to our final premises on the outskirts of Penzance and have a growing team to help us serve all your quilting needs!
We have a Click & Collect service in operation so you can shop online and collect from our premises. You can also find us at the Festival Of Quilts in Birmingham, which we attend each year.
Please let us know if there’s anything we can assist you with or ways that we can improve your shopping experience. If you are looking for a particular EPP shape/size, please don't hesitate to contact us and we can look to add this to our collection. I also love seeing your projects made with our EPP shapes and fabrics, feel free to share on our social media sites and tag me @messyjesse1 or @sewandquilt
Best, Jessie
