Our Story

Sew & Quilt was Founded in 2012 by Jessie Carrodus-Hill – also known as MessyJesse from the early days of blogging.

About us

A warm welcome to Sew & Quilt.

We are a one-of-a-kind destination for those who love the traditional craft of English paper piecing and patchwork. We are proud to offer our own range of Sew & Quilt paper pieces, made by us here in Penzance, Cornwall, available directly from us or specialist quilting retailers across the UK and beyond.

Our English paper pieces, along with all our products are carefully thought through every detail – from material to presentation to packaging, in order to provide a unique selection of products that I would not only use myself, but be proud to share with you.

Our product offering includes all the supplies you need to fulfil every EPP need! As well as Liberty Tana Lawns and quilting fabrics for eclectic modern maker’s and traditional quilter’s alike.

Our history

A Journey Rooted in Creativity, Craft
 & Community

Sew & Quilt began in 2012 from humble beginnings at home, eventually taking the big leap of faith to quit the day job and launch our own range of English Paper Pieces.

In 2015 we released the first English Paper Pieced Block Of The Month program, which turned out to be tremendously popular with customers stretching the globe! Soon after, my husband, Robin joined the business full-time to help with BOM club operations.

In March 2017, we jumped ship to larger premises to move the production of our Sew & Quilt paper pieces in-house. After a two-year stint of running a bricks-and-morter shop and growing the online business we made the decision to close our doors to the public in February 2019 to concentrate on our online sales and clubs. Fast forward to today, we have moved to our final premises on the outskirts of Penzance and have a growing team to help us serve all your quilting needs!

We have a Click & Collect service in operation so you can shop online and collect from our premises. You can also find us at the Festival Of Quilts in Birmingham, which we attend each year.
