Dear Jane, The 1863 Jane A. Stickle Quilt by Brenda Manges Papadakis

The Dear Jane quilt has captured the imaginations of quilters worldwide for decades, with none more so than author Brenda Manges Papadakis.

Brenda fell in love with the quilts complex arrangement and geometric nature and set about recreating the blocks back in 1991. Brenda has meticulously drafted all the blocks to fit together in perfect harmony and with each block she writes imaginary personal letters to the quilt-maker Jane Stickle on her journey. The original 1863 Dear Jane quilt now resides at the Bennington Museum in Vermont, USA and goes on display each Autumn for one month.

The updated 25th anniversary edition includes tried and tested blocks and a collection of 18 unique quilts from quilters who have undertaken the biggest quilt challenge of all, each influenced by Jane's 1863 geometric wonder. The book includes full-scale (finished - so you need to add seam allowances to each piece) drawings of each block to trace and use. There is no step by step of making the quilt, it is left to the reader to use their technique and assemble.
